W. & S.B. Gold-Plated Locket, Monogrammed

An antique gold-plated locket with a monogram engraved across the face, marked W. & S.B.

That mark is almost certainly W. & S. Blackinton of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, founded 1862 - one of the houses that made North Attleboro the centre of American jewellery manufacture for the better part of a century. We have it as an attribution rather than a certainty until the hallmark is read under magnification.
