Vintage Ultra Sweats Heather Grey Raglan Sweatshirt with 19 Navy & Space Shuttle Patches, Made in USA, L
Sold as found · All vintage is final sale
A light heather grey raglan sweatshirt covered in nineteen patches: Navy ships, a space shuttle crew and Southern California.
The label reads Ultra Sweats, L, 50% acrylic, 30% polyester, 20% cotton, Made in USA.
Somebody built this one patch by patch. Among them: USS John Paul Jones DDG 53, a guided missile destroyer commissioned in 1993. USS Tripoli, LPH, the amphibious assault ship. The crew patch for Hart, van Hoften, Nelson, Crippen and Scobee, who flew Challenger on STS-41-C in April 1984 and caught, repaired and released the Solar Max satellite in orbit. Then the home front: CCC Escondido and the San Pedro Hightides. The patches span at least a decade, which makes this less a souvenir than a scrapbook you can wear.
