Vintage Carved Stone Cameo Stick Pin, Helmeted Warrior in Profile, Gold Tone Frame, Twisted Stem

A stick pin set with a carved stone cameo of a helmeted warrior in profile, the crested helmet and cross-hatched armour cut in white against a deep translucent red, in an oval gold tone frame ringed with little trefoil points. The stem has a twisted section to grip the fabric.

The cameo is cut through two layers of stone, white over red, in the manner of sardonyx; it has not been tested. The helmeted head in armour is the classic way of showing Minerva, goddess of wisdom and war.

Condition: A chip to the white layer at the top, behind the helmet; wear to the frame finish.

Measurements: 2.5 in long; head 1 in.

Care: Wipe with a soft dry cloth.
