A shawl-collar cardigan by Eddie Bauer in 85% wool, 15% nylon, with suede elbow patches, leather buttons and two pockets. 24.5 inches pit to pit, 28 long. A men's M, a 49 chest - roomy, the way a shawl cardigan should be.
The label reads EDDIE BAUER OUTDOOR OUTFITTER, SEATTLE, USA. That is the old wording, from when the company still made things in America and still called itself an outfitter rather than a brand. It is the label people look for. Made in USA puts it, most likely, in the 1980s - we are hedging because the label gives no year.
The nylon is there for wear, not economy: fifteen percent in a wool knit keeps the elbows from going first, which is also what the suede is for.
Great condition.
Hand wash cool, dry flat. Keep it folded, away from other wool.
Modern size: Fits like a modern Women's XXL or Men's XL.
