On the back is an old C-clasp, the simple hooked catch used before the safety clasp became standard, and it works smoothly. Sash pins were made to hold a wide belt or sash in place at the waist; today they wear beautifully as a brooch on a coat or a jacket. The snake was a favourite Victorian and Edwardian symbol of eternal love and wisdom.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eCondition:\u003c\/strong\u003e Good antique condition, with a warm natural patina to the brass.
